Summer has arrived at the Jersey Shore!
After a long, tough winter and a nice spring, summer 2010 has arrived in southern New Jersey with events almost too numerous to mention.
Summer starts off with a bang in Seaside Heights with fireworks every Wednesday from June 28 to August 25. That’s right – fireworks every Wednesday all summer long!
Of course there will be fireworks in almost every major Jersey Shore town on the weekend of July 2-4, including Seaside Heights, Atlantic City, Ocean City and Cape May.
July brings the biggest party of the summer to Ocean City – “Night in Venice.” Hundreds of boats cruise the lagoons on the back bay while thousands of people line the docks and street ends to view the parade.
One of the best air shows in the country comes to Atlantic City on August 25. “Thunder Over The Boardwalk” as it’s called, draws several hundred thousand people to the Atlantic City beach and boardwalk every year. This year’s show features performances by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Army Black Nights parachute team as well as flybys and aerial demonstrations by other civilian and military aircraft.
Of course Labor Day is the traditional end -of-summer celebration but remember that there are plenty of nice days and fun events at the Jersey Shore in September as well.
